Personal Budget Planning
What is a Personal Budget?
If you are eligible for health or social care funding, you should be offered a personal budget, including a direct payment. A direct payment means you are given the budget to spend on your agreed care needs directly.

A personal budget gives you more choice and control over your care and support. If you have been assessed and qualify for support you can let the NHS or Local Authority organise and manage your care. The Local Authority may do this themselves or they may work with a local, trusted and registered independent care provider. Essential Nursing & Care Agency work with a number of service users in this way.

Alternatively you may decide to have a Direct Payment which means you receive the payment and are free to select your own care and support. You decide who supports you, when and how. If you don’t want to look after the money yourself but want to keep control on how the budget is spent, we can manage this for you too.

How do I decide what to spend the money on?
You can use your Direct Payments for whatever help you need, whether it’s help in your home, personal care, outings and social activities or attending medical appointments.

If you qualify for a Personal Budget you will need to have a Support Plan. This means you will need to write down the support you need to live your life and do the things you like to do. The plan will need to show how this support will make things better for you.

At Essential we can help you draw up your Support Plan and make sure that your budget is spent on the things that are important to you. We can help with assessing your needs so that your budget covers everything you need to help you live the life you want to live.

“I never knew that you people existed until I needed (desperately) help after a very bad fall. My gratitude is towards you and your girls. Just knowing that I am not alone has helped me more that I can say and I thank you all from the bottom of my heart for all the help I am still getting.”
